The spirit of Anchorage is alive in the Geneva negotiations on the settlement of Ukraine, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin. The last round of negotiations between Russia, the USA and Ukraine took place in Geneva on February 17-18. "The spirit of Anchorage is alive," Galuzin told reporters.
On August 15, 2025, talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States took place at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base near Anchorage, Alaska.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the ways of settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, both of them assessed it positively. After the summit, the Russian president noted the possibility of stopping the conflict process in Ukraine and emphasized Russia's interest in long-term settlement.
