5 banks were robbed in Germany in 2 months

At least the fifth bank robbery took place in Germany in the last two months. On February 13, in the city of Stur near Bremen, unknown persons penetrated the basement of the local branch of the Volksbank bank, broke and emptied 14 safes. The extent of the damage is still unknown.

During the robbery, the criminals poured an unknown liquid in the basement of the building on Blokener Street. Allegedly, as a result of this, the employees of the branch complained of feeling sick and nauseated. Firefighters and doctors arrived at the scene and helped two employees. The area was evacuated. The measurements did not record an excess of the permissible concentration of any dangerous substance.

On December 17, 2025, two safes were opened in a branch of the Sparkasse bank in the center of Bonn, and valuables, mainly gold, were stolen from them. The police said that a 22-year-old former employee of the bank is suspected in the crime. A search was carried out in his apartment, he was detained, but then he was released because no grounds for arrest were found.

On the morning of December 29, the security service of Sparkasse Bank in Gelsenkirchen discovered that around 3,200 safes containing money, gold and other valuables had been broken into. The criminals entered the vault from the adjacent parking lot by punching a hole in the wall. According to some data, the amount of damage may exceed 100 million euros. this robbery is called one of the biggest in German history.

On December 30, unknown persons broke four safes in the bank branch on the street near the station in Galle during the working day. And on January 29, 18 safes were broken in the Sparkasse branch in Wilhelmshaven. Investigators are investigating whether there is a connection between all these robberies.
