The Russian Foreign Ministry denied Aliyev's accusations

Russia has expressed bewilderment regarding Baku's statements regarding the alleged deliberate attacks on the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv, TASS reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia reminded that explanations were provided to the Azerbaijani side, and on November 21, 2025, a sincere regret was conveyed to the Azerbaijani ambassador in Moscow regarding the damage caused to the buildings and territory of the diplomatic mission.

The ministry emphasized that, most likely, the damage was caused by the malfunction of the anti-aircraft systems of the Ukrainian armed forces, presumably as a result of the fall of the missile of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex.

Video footage from the scene was provided for confirmation, showing damage to fences, vehicles and buildings, as well as debris tracks.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russian armed forces only strike legitimate military targets, including Ukrainian defense industry facilities, and that the location of foreign diplomatic missions is taken into account when planning strikes to minimize the risk to civilians.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced at the Munich Security Conference that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine was attacked three times. He noted that the first strike was believed to be accidental, but two more incidents followed.
