Turkey and Armenia have reached an agreement on starting direct land trade, Turkish sources said.
The cargo will retain its original export status throughout the journey.
The parties take this step within the framework of the relationship regulation process. Direct air cargo transportation between the countries has already started.
According to Noyan Soyak, Vice President of the Turkish-Armenian Business Development Executive Council, "the decision was made some time ago, and the technical works were already underway." He noted that the new scheme will reduce additional costs for Turkish companies by 10-15%.
Previously, cargo transportation between countries was regulated through intermediaries in Georgia and classified as "re-export".
