The Israeli authorities fear that the US and Iran may reach a certain agreement during the upcoming direct negotiations, which will not weigh the interests of the Jewish state.
The Al-Monitor portal reported this with reference to its sources. According to the publication, on Tuesday, during his visit, the special envoy of the US president, Steven Wittkoff, tried to convince the leadership of Israel that Washington will maintain a strict position during the negotiations with Iran.
However, according to the sources of the portal within the Israeli government, he was not able to eliminate the fears of the country's leadership. Prime Minister of Israel Binyamin Netanyahu called on Witkoff not to trust the Iranian side and emphasized that the force scenario is more appropriate for Tehran.
