The process of issuing new temporary protection (refugee) certificates to persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh has started.
✔️ Persons who received temporary protection, whose certificates are valid until 2024. December 31, in order to extend the validity period of the card, they can already apply to any regional department of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. You don't need to register in advance to apply. service is carried out on the spot by drawing a receipt.
✔️ Since the persons who received temporary protection must have a valid passport and a valid refugee certificate in order to leave the Republic of Armenia, we urge you not to wait until the expiration of the validity period of the refugee certificate, but to update the validity periods of these documents in the future if you plan to cross the border in the direction of exit.
✔️ If the person who received temporary protection is abroad and plans to visit the Republic of Armenia, he can present only a valid passport, and if he plans to visit another/third country, he must apply to the RA consulate in his country of residence to get a new certificate.
✔️ If a person has changed his/her passport after receiving the temporary protection certificate (due to loss, expiration, damage), he/she should apply for a new certificate, as the temporary protection certificate is issued on the basis of an existing/valid passport.
✔️ Even if the validity period of the certificate has passed, the person granted temporary protection continues to remain under the temporary protection of the Republic of Armenia until he applies for RA citizenship.
✔️ Let's remind that our compatriots of Nagorno Karabakh can get RA citizenship in an accelerated procedure. For this, it is necessary to apply to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (at 17/10, Davtashen, 4th district) in Yerevan, and to the territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in marzes.
