China is willing to cooperate with the United Nations for stability and development in Africa. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced this during a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Beijing.
"China is ready to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations to jointly help Africa achieve peace, stability, development and revival," China Central Television quoted him as saying.
According to the Chinese leader, Beijing attaches great importance to the development of Sino-African relations, and "China has no interest" in building cooperation with the continent.
Guterres noted that "historically, Africa has been the main victim of colonialism".
"China's cooperation with Africa can help reduce the historical injustices that Africa has suffered and help it achieve peace and development," said the UN Secretary-General.
