Zakharova noted that Epstein engaged in "monstrous, long-term work, demoralizing people, blackmailing them, etc." He expressed doubt that the intelligence agencies were not aware of the activities of the financier.

"All this is happening in the center of the Western world. As you understand, this could not become a subject of strict control," said the diplomat.
