Afghan authorities are planning a number of official visits to Russia in 2026

The Afghan authorities plan to make a number of official visits to Russia in 2026, Afghanistan's ambassador to Russia, Gul Hassan, said in an interview with TASS.

"In 2026, high-level representatives of Afghanistan are expected to visit Russia, which is related to Russia's official recognition of Afghanistan," the diplomat said in the first interview after assuming his post in Moscow.

He added: "In addition, a high-level delegation of Afghanistan participates in the Kazan Economic Forum every year. This year, it is also expected that the representatives of Afghanistan will participate in this event."

It should be reminded that on July 1, 2025, the new ambassador of Afghanistan, Gul Hassan, arrived in Moscow, and on July 3, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko accepted copies of his credentials. At that time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informed TASS that Russia officially recognizes the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
