The EU has recognized the IRGC as a terrorist organization

The European Union has recognized Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. Kaya Callas, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, announced this on her X social network page.

"EU foreign ministers have just taken a decisive step by recognizing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization," the diplomat wrote.

On January 29, the European Union agreed to apply additional sanctions against Iran. The restrictions target individuals and organizations that the EU considers responsible for suppressing protests in the country.
