Turkey is taking security measures on the border with Iran against the backdrop of US threats to strike Tehran, according to the statement of the Turkish Ministry of Defense on January 29.
"We do not want new tensions and conflicts in our region. We continue to make efforts to establish peace and stability," the ministry emphasized. The Ministry added that all necessary measures are being taken in coordination with the relevant state bodies.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with "Al Jazeera" called the possible US attack on Iran a mistake. He advised the American side to solve the problems related to Tehran. "My advice to my American friends is to solve the problems with Iran one by one. Start with the nuclear issue, solve it, then move on to the rest," said the Turkish minister.
