The American mediators highly appreciated the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations held in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24, 2026, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.
According to the publication, those meetings in the USA were characterized as positive and constructive.

According to WSJ sources, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations "showed a high level of mutual respect and goodwill, and their interaction was at times so good that they almost seemed like friends."

The publication notes that the next meetings scheduled for February 1 in Abu Dhabi will be held in the same spirit.
