Macron: Europe should be a participant in the Ukrainian conflict settlement process

French President Emmanuel Macron believes that European countries should be fully involved in the process of settling the conflict over Ukraine.

"We discussed the process of negotiations that started last week in Abu Dhabi and came to the conclusion that the Europeans should fully participate in the discussion of the issues that concern them," Macron wrote on the X social platform on Wednesday.

The French leader also announced that he had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Zelensky. He emphasized that Paris will continue to support Kyiv "as long as it is necessary".

Macron also noted that France will continue to work on new sanctions against Russia at the European level, with the aim of countering the so-called "shadow fleet".

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on one of Macron's proposals regarding the tightening of restrictive measures against Russia, stated that sanctions harm those who impose them. The Russian President has also repeatedly emphasized that Moscow has never refused negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
