US President Donald Trump has announced that major American powers are approaching Iran, while expressing hope that Tehran will agree to a deal. During a speech to his supporters in the state of Iowa, Trump again touched on the topic of Iran, once again repeating the thesis that the United States "destroyed its nuclear capabilities" in June 2025.
"If another month had passed, they would have had nuclear weapons. We had to take that step," he said, commenting on the attacks against the Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. "Now the regular US forces are moving very nicely in the direction of Iran, so we'll see.
I hope that they will agree to the deal," the US president added.
