Today is the 87th birthday of Tigran Mansuryan, the People's Artist of Armenia, composer, recipient of the Order of Honor and the Order of St. Mesrop Mashtots.
Tigran Mansuryan's birthday is an occasion to thank an artist whose creative presence continuously confirms that being national and having a global voice do not contradict each other, but are different depths of the same path. His art continues to be a living support for Armenian culture.
In his art, modernity has never been separated from tradition, and national memory and folklore support have turned into the language of inner truth.
Mansuryan's compositions were performed in major concert halls of the world: London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Moscow, New York, Los Angeles and other cities.
On the occasion of the birthday, on January 28, at the "Aram Khachatryan" concert hall, on the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, the "Symphonic Mansuryan" concert will be held, during which the composer's music written for Armenian films and theater performances will be played. The Armenian Cinema Fund is the partner of the concert.
With the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia, the cultural center named after Tigran Mansuryan in Artik is being renovated. The estimated cost of the repair works of the center built in 1969 and named after the composer in 2017 is 112 million 878 thousand AMD.
