Former Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia welcomed "the significant step taken in the direction of historical peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan". At the same time, he strongly criticized the current government of Tbilisi, for pushing Georgia into strategic isolation.
In a post published on X, Gakharia congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the "recent milestone towards historic peace", stressing that this progress was made possible by the leadership and involvement of US President Donald Trump.
Gakharia insisted that sustained US involvement in the South Caucasus remains "vital to regional peace, security and prosperity," especially as countries actively reposition themselves in the "new world order."
