"We are aware of the missile launches and are conducting close consultations with our allies and partners. Based on current assessments, this incident did not pose a threat to US forces or territory, nor to our allies.
The United States remains committed to the defense of US territory and our allies in the region," said a statement published on the X social network.
Earlier, Japan's maritime security service informed about missile launches by the DPRK, calling on ships in the region, if they find fragments of missiles, not to approach them and contact the authorities immediately. The Kyodo news agency reported that the DPRK fired several, most likely, ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan on Tuesday. They fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
