China's Foreign Ministry called on the United States to lift the embargo and sanctions against Cuba

China calls on the US to stop violating international law and immediately lift the embargo and sanctions against Cuba. Guo Jiakun, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China, stated at a briefing held on Tuesday that China calls on the United States to stop the pressure on Cuba and immediately lift the embargoes and sanctions.

Earlier, the Politico magazine, referring to its sources, reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump is considering new pressure measures against the Cuban authorities, including the possibility of a complete maritime embargo in order to stop the country's oil imports.

"We call on the United States to stop depriving the Cuban people of their right to exist and develop, to stop actions that undermine regional peace and stability, to stop actions that violate international law, and to immediately lift the embargo and sanctions against Cuba," Guo Jiakun said.
