Mertz declared Germany's historical responsibility for the Holocaust

Germany's historical responsibility for the Holocaust remains unchanged, and such a tragedy must never be repeated in the future. Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Mertz announced this on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

"Our historical responsibility remains unchanged. anti-Semitism has no place in Germany. We remember the systematic extermination of the Jews today, on Holocaust Memorial Day, as on any other day. Something like this should never happen again," Mertz wrote on his X social network page.

Earlier, in an interview with RIA Novosti, an American veteran of the Second World War, Reserve Colonel Frank Kohn, who personally survived the Holocaust at a young age, stated that the International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a reminder of what hatred can lead to and how high its price can be.
