FT: Israel is ready to sign a 10-year military aid agreement with the US

Israel intends to sign a new 10-year military aid agreement with the United States, preparing for a significant reduction in financial support. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

The current agreement, which expires in 2028, provides for an annual allocation of at least $4 billion to Tel Aviv. According to Gil Pinhas, the chief financial advisor of the Ministry of Defense, during the negotiations expected in the coming weeks, Israel will try to give priority to joint military and defense projects, rather than direct financial subsidies.

"In this context, partnership is more important than a purely financial issue. there are many things that are equivalent to money," he said. According to him, pure financial support or "free money" of several billion dollars a year, which Israel can use to purchase American weapons, is only "one component" of the agreement.
