Moscow is preparing for heavy snowfall

Heavy snow is expected again in Moscow in the coming days. Meteorologists are predicting up to 31mm of rain in just two days, more than half the monthly average. The Russian Hydrometeorological Center has already raised the level of weather danger to yellow, which will be effective from 2:00 on January 27.

The intensity of the upcoming snowfall may even surpass the previous one. According to Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist of the "Fobos" meteorological center, most of the snowfall, up to 22 mm, will fall on Tuesday, January 27. For comparison, on January 9, when cyclone "Francis" was raging in Moscow, the amount of precipitation was 21.4 mm. A further 9mm is expected the following day, Wednesday 28 January.
