The Italian Foreign Ministry announced that Trump could become a Nobel Prize winner if peace is established in Ukraine.

Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani believes that US President Donald Trump will have every reason to win the Nobel Peace Prize if he manages to settle the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip.

"If peace is established in Gaza through American mediation and there is peace in Ukraine through American mediation, why not?" Donald Trump will have all the grounds to receive the Nobel Peace Prize," he said on Radio 1.

Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed hope for this purpose.
Trump, who claims to have ended a series of wars, claimed the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025, but it was awarded to Venezuelan opposition politician María Corine Machado.

Still, the US president has said he hopes to receive the award in 2026, and Speakers of the US House and Knesset, Mike Johnson and Amir Ohana, have said they are starting to collect signatures from their colleagues to nominate him in other countries.
