The President of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, stated that the country needs full digitization in the field of migration control, as Kazakhstan can become a transit hub for migrants. He said this during a meeting held at the General Prosecutor's Office.
"It is necessary to carry out complete digitization in the field of migration regulation. This is indeed a very important issue that we have been talking about for a long time, but positive progress has been minimal so far.
A difficult situation has developed in the world. It is safe to say that migration flows are increasing on the scale of the entire planet. Under these conditions, Kazakhstan becomes a convenient transportation hub and an attractive country for the long-term stay of foreign migrants," the president said.
The head of the country emphasized that the priority issue is the modernization of the temporary registration and movement monitoring systems of foreign citizens in order to ensure migration control, and therefore instructed the government, together with the National Security Committee, to speed up the work in this direction.
