Lukashenko hopes to meet with Modi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed hope that he will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi within the framework of the BRICS summit to be held in 2026. This was mentioned in the congratulatory message of the head of Belarus dedicated to the Republic Day of India. According to Lukashenko, India, as the BRICS chairman country, contributes to the strengthening of a multilateral and fair world.

"Belarus is proud of its long-standing friendly relations with India. I am confident that our cooperation, based on trust and mutual support, is continuously developing and gaining new practical content.

I am confident that with joint efforts we will fully realize the great potential of cooperation in the fields of industry, digital technologies, agriculture and security," the presidential office said in a congratulatory message. The other BRICS summit will be held this year in India under the country's presidency.
