The total number of power outages reached 211,025, with the largest number reported in Louisiana (69,170), Mississippi (47,580) and Texas (44,572).

Heavy snow and dangerous freezing conditions are expected from eastern Texas to North Carolina, according to the National Weather Service. A state of emergency has been declared in at least 21 states.
