The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Dan Kane, has invited his counterparts from a number of countries in the Western Hemisphere, as well as Great Britain and France, to hold a meeting in Washington on February 11. It will be dedicated to the fight against drug cartels and other criminal groups, reports Bloomberg.
"The chiefs of staff and high-ranking military representatives from 34 countries will meet in order to form a common understanding of common security priorities and strengthen regional security," the agency quotes the message of the US Department of Defense.
The participants of the meeting "will analyze the importance of strong partnership, stable cooperation and joint efforts against criminal and terrorist organizations, as well as external factors that weaken regional security and stability," the agency added.
