The response to possible aggression against Tehran will be the most severe, a high-ranking Iranian official said.
"This time, we will consider any attack, limited, unlimited, whatever you call it, as a full-scale war against us, and we will respond in the strongest way," he told reporters on condition of anonymity.
The official noted that currently Tehran is in a much more favorable situation than during the 12-day war with Israel. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that American ships "in any case" are moving towards Iran.
Until then, he had not given a clear answer to the question whether the option of intervention against the country was removed from the agenda.
