Since 2014, Europe has missed all its opportunities to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"Europe lost its first opportunity, I apologize for the harsh words, in February 2014, when it failed to force the opposition to fulfill the terms of the agreement guaranteed by Europe," he said at the press conference concluding Russia's diplomatic activities in 2025.
As the minister noted, the second time the Europeans were able to contribute to the settlement was in February 2015, when the Minsk agreements were signed with the participation of France and Germany. However, the Europeans later announced that the Minsk agreements were necessary to buy time for Ukraine.
The third opportunity was missed before the start of the New World War, when the European countries did not support the Russian initiative to conclude a security agreement between Russia and NATO.
