US President Donald Trump published on Truth Social the personal message of French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he proposed to organize a meeting of the "Great Seven" (G7) in Paris and invited Russia to participate.
"I can organize a G7 meeting in Paris on Thursday after Davos. I can invite Ukrainians, Danes, Syrians and Russians," the statement reads. Macron also invited Trump to dine with him in the French capital before the American leader left for the United States.
Macron called Trump a "friend" and noted that their positions on Syria fully coincide, adding that they "can do great things" on the Iranian issue. However, the French president emphasized that he does not understand what Trump intends to do regarding Greenland.
