15,000 electric vehicles to be exempted from import duties by 2026


The State Revenue Committee reports that adopted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia on December 25, 2025: N1971was approved by the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated 05.12.2025. The procedure for the importation of 15,000 vehicles with an electric motor, allocated to the Republic of Armenia by the decision N 111, to be imported with exemption from the payment of import customs duty.


The Committee informs that during the year 2026, 3000 out of the total 15,000 motor vehicles with an electric motor, issued after December 31, 2023, falling under the codes of the EAEU TGS AA 8703 80 000 3 and 8703 80 000 5, are allocated directly to the car manufacturer. within the framework of the dealer-distributor contract (agreement) to the entities carrying out import, and 12,000 to other entities (including natural persons).

At the same time, it is also planned to redistribute the balance among other entities in case the above-mentioned 3,000 motor vehicles with electric motors are not consumed.

It should be noted that the decision will enter into force on January 22, 2026 and will apply to vehicles with an electric motor formulated from the same day.
