On Wednesday, a fire accompanied by an explosion broke out in an oil depot belonging to "SOCAR Petroleum" CJSC (a subsidiary of the state oil company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR) in the Kazakh region of western Azerbaijan.
"The incident took place in the territory of oil depot No. 7 of the "SOCAR Petroleum" company.The explosion occurred during the refueling process of a vehicle transporting fuel.Thanks to the operative actions of the firefighters, it was possible to prevent the spread of the fire.localize it in a short period of time and completely extinguish the fire."- said in the company's message on social networks.
The company reported that an oil depot employee who worked as a filter-filler was killed in the accident.
The causes of the fire are currently being investigated.
