The cause of death of French actress Brigitte Bardot was cancer, her husband Bernard D'Ormal announced.
Bardot died on December 28 at the age of 91. His funeral will take place on January 7 at the naval cemetery of Saint Tropez resort in the south of France.
"He's had two operations to treat cancer," D'Ormal told Paris Match magazine.
The husband of the actress said that she was suffering from severe back pains that weakened her. He added that in recent months, Bardo has been announcing that he is tired and wants to leave.
In October, Nice-Matin reported that the actress spent three weeks in a private hospital in Toulon, where she underwent surgery due to a serious illness.
