"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"The Chief Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan announced at the Government session that some of the illegal buildings in the area of Lake Sevan should be razed to the ground. The statement sounded decisive, but the actions that followed it again raised questions. Let's remind that the daily "Haykakan Zhamanak" owned by Nikol Pashinyan's family wrote years ago that there are around 3800 illegal and subject to demolition buildings in Lake Sevan and surrounding areas.
However, yesterday, in fact, only a few dilapidated houses belonging to the President of the Union of Ukraine Sasun Mikayelyan were demolished - metal, obviously useless structures. Meanwhile, according to informed sources of "Zhoghovurd" daily, the other "big" objects mentioned by Anna Vardapetyan, the mansion of the former police chief of the RA Vladimir Gasparyan and the "Harsnakar" complex belonging to the former president of the FFA, Ruben Hayrapetyan, will not be completely demolished.
"Zhoghovurd" learned from its informed sources that only 2-3 cottages are planned to be demolished from the "Harsnakar" complex, and other scenarios are being discussed for the main building: to nationalize it, to serve other purposes or to sell it. With the same logic, there is also a goal to nationalize Vladimir Gasparyan's mansion and turn it into a children's or educational center. It turns out to be an interesting but dangerous logic. an illegal building is illegal as long as it belongs to the "formers".
And when the owner changes or the object passes to the state, illegality "turns" into legality. Meanwhile, if a building violates the law, it must be demolished, regardless of its name, past, or future plans. And if it is not subject to demolition, then the question arises why it was considered illegal for years.
An image of political justice is being formed around Sevan. the hammer falls where it is safe, and in the case of large objects, illegality is "recast" in the name of state interest.
