Attacks on ships in the Black Sea indicate the deterioration of the situation. Erdogan

The attacks on tankers in Turkey's exclusive economic zone at the end of last week testify to the alarming escalation of the situation. They cannot be justified, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated after the cabinet meeting held under his chairmanship. The session was broadcast on TRT Haber.

"Attacks on commercial ships in our exclusive economic zone indicate the alarming escalation of the situation. We cannot in any way justify these attacks, which threaten the safety of shipping, life and the environment," Erdogan said.

"We are closely following the events of the last weeks, which are aimed at ending the war [in Ukraine], and at every opportunity we declare our readiness to make the necessary contribution to ending it," the Turkish president said.
