On October 27, 2024, at 11:00 p.m., an alarm was received from a resident of one of the houses on N. Shengavit 6th Street in Yerevan that his 72-year-old wife was killed by their son. Criminal proceedings were initiated in the investigation department of the Shengavit administrative district of the Investigative Department, according to Article 155, Part 2, Clause 9 of the RA Criminal Code.
The investigative-operational group immediately went to the scene of the incident and began to take immediate action. The victim's 39-year-old son, who, according to the received data, has been suffering from mental illness since 2005, was arrested on reasonable suspicion of murder. Test samples were obtained, forensic, forensic genetic and forensic complex examinations of the corpse were ordered, and a number of people were questioned.
Upon examination, there was swelling and swelling on the right wrist of the person who allegedly committed the crime, a cut and puncture mark on the thumb of the right hand, and injuries in the form of scratches in the temporal area of the right eye. In order to find out other important circumstances for the case, an operative assignment was given to the relevant police department. The investigation is ongoing.
