Sijarto called on the EU not to finance Kyiv because of corruption

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, should not propose that the European Union finance Ukraine, because the country has a corrupt government system, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó told reporters before the start of the meeting with EU partners in Brussels.

He reminded that von der Leyen recently sent a letter to the members of the community with proposals for confiscation of Russian assets and two alternative options for credit financing for Ukraine.

"If we want Europe to feel that we take corruption seriously, then the president of the European Commission should not have sent such a letter," said Sijarto, as broadcast by the M1 TV channel.
