FT. The US boycott of the G20 summit casts doubt on its future

The refusal of the United States to participate in the G20 summit casts doubt on its future as a platform for coordination of global initiatives, according to the report of the Financial Times.

"The situation is serious. We really cannot achieve anything without American participation," an anonymous European diplomat told the newspaper.

According to the publication, the US boycott called into question the initial agreements reached within the framework of the summit on climate change and the Ukrainian conflict.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that US representatives would not attend the G20 summit. He called the holding of the summit in South Africa shameful, drawing attention to the human rights record of whites, who he says are being abused.
