The US administration expects that its plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine will be successfully implemented, NBC News reporter Garrett Hake said, citing an unnamed White House official.
"The White House does not disclose the details of this plan, but they express optimism. This new approach can push the situation forward," he said on the air of the TV channel.
According to the journalist, the program provides security guarantees for both Ukraine and Russia, whose leadership states that it is "acting in response to and concerned about NATO's [eastward] expansion and Ukraine's possible membership in the alliance."
Western media previously, citing sources, reported that the United States is developing a new plan for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and is holding consultations with Russia on this issue.
