There is a real threat of a third world war in Europe stemming from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and other countries must work to stop it immediately, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at an anti-war rally in Gyor.
"An anti-war rally should be held when there is danger.
I think that there is a threat of war in Europe. Europe is on the verge of war," said the Prime Minister, his words were broadcast on the M1 TV channel. He believes that the current situation in Europe somewhat resembles what happened on the eve of the First and Second World Wars.
Orban is convinced that the Ukrainian conflict can be resolved if the EU leaders also take a peaceful stance, instead of trying to prolong it.
He doubted whether Hungary would be able to stay away from the fighting.
