Moldova used Israeli ATMOS 2000 howitzers in military exercises

Moldova used Israeli ATMOS 2000 self-propelled howitzers during recent military exercises, but no official information about their purchase or receipt has been released, state TV channel M1 reported.

"The Ministry of Defense of Moldova has published on its Facebook page photos of live-fire exercises with recently delivered ATMOS 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Israel, confirming that this 155 mm self-propelled system is now in service with the country," the TV channel reported.

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova has not announced plans to purchase this equipment, nor has it published a report on its receipt. According to the TV channel, the weapon was purchased with the help of the EU, through the European Peace Fund.

The cost of ATMOS 2000 varies significantly depending on the specific contract, ranging from $3.9 million to $5.0 million per unit. Additional costs include training, maintenance and ammunition.
