Belarus called on its European neighbors to restore the previous border regime

The Belarusian side calls on the neighboring European Union countries to restore the previous border regime for the benefit of ordinary citizens and the development of cross-border cooperation. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

Previously, a meeting was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Alexander Turchin and Secretary of State of the Security Council Alexander Volfovich, dedicated to the situation on the border with the EU states.

The heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Border Committee, the State Customs Committee and the State Security Committee also took part in it.

"The participants discussed in detail the current state of the situation at the border and the development prospects, noting that the created situation does not correspond to the interests of either Belarus or the European Union.

"Belarus consistently calls on its European neighbors to restore the former border regime for the benefit of ordinary citizens and the development of cross-border cooperation," the text states.
