Mertz and Zelensky discussed the investigation into the corruption scandal in Ukraine

German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz and Vladimir Zelensky discussed the investigations against corruption in Ukraine during a telephone conversation.

The German government expects that Kiev will resolutely fight against corruption and continue reforms in the sphere of the rule of law, said Stefan Cornelius, the spokesman of the German cabinet.

"Chancellor Friedrich Mertz had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Zelensky today. Zelensky briefed him on corruption investigations against now-resigned members of his government, promising full transparency, long-term support for independent anti-corruption bodies and further operational measures to restore the confidence of the Ukrainian people, European partners and international donors.
