Lithuania announced the readiness of Latvia and Estonia to close the border with Belarus

Riga and Tallinn are ready to follow the example of Vilnius by closing their road border with Belarus, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene told reporters.

"We have received assurances from Latvia and Estonia that if the Belarusian regime continues to attack us (with hybrid operations) and the situation cannot be resolved, they are ready to show solidarity and close the border," the head of the government insisted.

On October 29, Lithuania closed its road border with Belarus. Vilnius announced that this regime will remain in force for one month.

The reason for the closure was air smuggling, the smuggling of cheaper cigarettes across the border from Belarus, which poses a threat to civil aviation security. Vilnius International Airport had to close seven times in one month.
