Both Moscow and Washington believe that the next meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump should produce concrete results in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this in a conversation with journalists after the meeting of G7 foreign ministers held in Ontario, Canada on Wednesday.
"I think both sides agreed that there should be a concrete result during the next meeting of our presidents," he said, describing the content of the phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on October 20.
"We need to know that there is a real possibility of some positive outcome from the leaders' meeting," Rubio added.
"We would like to see the end of this war," emphasized the Secretary of State, speaking about the conflict in Ukraine.
