American scientists have recorded the brightest flare ever recorded from a black hole. The Associated Press (AP) reported the details, citing a study.
"Scientists have recorded the brightest flare ever recorded from a supermassive black hole, the light of which is comparable to 10 trillion sunlight. <...> This probably happened because the big star got too close to the black hole and disintegrated," the report states.
Such phenomena can also be caused by malfunctions or entangled magnetic fields in the hot gaseous disks surrounding black holes.
The California Institute of Technology, which recorded the flare, was said to be in disbelief at first when it saw the energy levels generated by the flare.
