Four Armenian chess players will compete in the second round of the FIDE World Cup in Goa, India.
Grandmaster Robert Hovhannisyan in the tie-break 2.5. He defeated Malaysian Mohan Havini by 1.5 points and joined Gabriel Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan who successfully passed the first round on November 2.
Grandmaster Karen Grigoryan lost 3.5:4.5 to Egyptian Ahmed Adly in the tie-break.
Another chess player representing Armenia, Shant Sargsyan, will enter the competition from the second round.
According to the regulations, the chess players occupying the first 50 positions of the rating table will start the fight from the second round. Sargsyan's starting number is 33.
It should be noted that the FIDE World Cup started on November 1 and will end on November 26.
