The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that it has opened a coordination center in Israel to provide aid to the Gaza Strip and monitor the observance of the ceasefire.
US Central Command opened a civil-military coordination center in Israel on October 17, officially establishing the main coordination center for providing aid to Gaza. The center's mission will be to support stabilization efforts.
The Center will also monitor the observance of the ceasefire agreement," the CENTCOM statement said.
The command noted that US troops will not be deployed in Gaza, but will instead contribute to the provision of humanitarian and logistical support to the region, as well as security by international partners.
