"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"Hours after the murder of Parakar community head Valodya Grigoryan, Nikol Pashinyan hastened to make a note, condemning what happened and saying: "The question of what kind of preventive actions should have been taken in order to prevent a series of violence in Parakar, who should have done it and why they didn't, should be subjected to a detailed analysis."
Some expected him to dismiss the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, while a few small heads flew and the issue was closed.
Apparently, the foreign sponsors of the minister are quite influential.
He especially enjoys the support of the US ambassador to Armenia. We were informed that the minister called a meeting a few days ago and also threatened his subordinates, including police chief Aram Ghazaryan, that if similar crimes continue, he will carry out mass releases, so take preventive measures.
We learned from one of Ghazaryan's close friends that during the period when the police chief was on vacation, the minister changed regional police chiefs without considering the police chief's opinion.
Of course, it is the minister who decides and implements the personnel policy, but it is at least strange that he appoints and dismisses subordinates of the police chief without consulting him.
