During the briefing of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Spokesman Natia Ioselian stated that voters in the local self-government elections amounted to 7.85%, two hours after the opening of the polling stations.
"The voter turnout was 275,948 (7.85%, celebrated by Tass)," Ioseliani said.
Ioselian also noted that the elections are being held in a calm atmosphere, and no complaints were registered in any polling station.
On October 4, local elections are held in Georgia. Citizens elect mayors of five self-goals, Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi and Poti, as well as members of 64 city meetings (Sakrebulos).
