Georgian citizens will elect the mayors of the cities and municipalities on Saturday, as well as members of the Sakrebulo (City Associations) representing the Municipal Government. 2058 deputies will be elected by both proportional and majoritarian elections in 64 urban meetings. Tbilisi Sakrebulo, in particular, consists of 50 members, 25 of whom are elected by proportional party lists, and 25 are elected by the majoritarian system.
Thus, the voters should mark three columns in their ballots, to choose mayor, to vote for the party's proportional distribution in favor of the majoritarian candidate in their region, in the big city or village.
Urban and municipal mayors will be elected in the first stage if they receive more than 50% of the vote. The parties must overcome the 4% threshold to enter the Sakrebulo (City Council) by the proportional system.
The candidate who has received the most votes of each region will win.
